In an effort to save his unborn son after Lisa was rendered brain dead in an accident, Cliff willingly placed Sam under the care of Bridges scientists conducting Bridge baby experiments, but did so unaware of their true intentions: to use Sam as a sacrificial foundation for a new communications network as the first proper bridge baby. Upon learning of these intentions from an old comrade and friend, Cliff attempted to abduct Sam from a Bridges facility, but was gunned down in the process, resulting in his and Sam's deaths. On the Beach, Sam was healed and brought back to life by Amelie, who bestowed to him the ability of repatriation. No longer viable as a bridge baby by virtue of being a repatriate, he was taken into Bridget's care and raised as her son, Sam Strand. ^{This portrayal of Sam is based heavily off of my own headcanons and story centred around Death Stranding as a whole - however this is subject to change upon the release of Death Stranding 2: On The Beach.He is still a porter for Bridges but he is also very heavily freelance and he sometimes takes Lou with him on Deliveries.See VERSES for more information on his multiverse implementations.Sam still actively grieves over his late wife, Lucy Strand and he will visit UCA-01-0C where the void out / her death happened once a year on their wedding anniversary. This won't change ever.This will affect every verse, Sam is what is known as a repatriate the next paragraph is taken from the Death Stranding Wiki.When a human and a BT come into contact, an annihilation event known as a voidout occurs. These events occur when matter meets antimatter, and mass is converted, violently and abruptly, into energy, resulting in destruction on a devastating scale which leaves behind a large crater. The Egyptians believed that after death, the soul vacates the body and passes into the Seam, from there it transitions to the Beach, and only then on to the world of the dead.A repatriate is a human with the power to guide his soul back to their body after being "eaten" by a BT—typically achieved through using the Seam after being “stranded” to bring themselves back to life once they find their body. How the repatriate's body survives the contact with a BT and the following voidout is a far bigger mystery. Voidouts triggered by contact with repatriates, however, consistently result in smaller craters. It is suspected that this is because energy is “lost" to the Beach, and that in the case of repatriates, the amount of energy lost is particularly high.}

^{BB-28 was initially assigned to Igor Frank of Bridges Corpse Disposal. Igor, Sam and another member of corpse disposal were in charge of cremating a necrotizing suicide victim's body in an incinerator nearby. The truck they were driving was caught by the timefall and are forced to deviate into a BT-infested area. While BB activates Igor's odradek, for an unknown reason it does not properly detect BTs in the area, much to Igor's disappointment. When the truck overturned, Igor was forced to shoot his fellow member of corpse disposal, who had been captured and was being carried away, in an attempt to stop him from causing a voidout. Igor then tossed BB-28 to Sam before he was captured himself and shortly consumed by a colossal BT, causing a voidout. For some reason BB remains unscathed despite the explosion, possibly due to Sam's repatriate abilities.For failing to save its operative, BB-28 is scheduled for cremation and is unknowingly taken by Sam to an incinerator along with President Bridget Strand's corpse. However, upon realizing the BB is still alive, Sam defies the order and soon after establishes a trance connection with the infant to escape a group of beached things that had surrounded the incinerator following the increase of chiralium in the area. After Sam returns to Capital Knot City, Deadman recalibrates BB-28 and gives the infant back to Sam to help him on his next expedition: reconnecting the nodes of the Chiral Network and thus reconnecting America. ^{Lou Unger-Strand is the adopted daughter of Sam Unger-Strand / Porter Bridges after the affects of the original Death Stranding. She still serves as a BB though not in the way one would expect.Timefall doesn't effect Lou, she DOES have DOOMs but what extent is not known as of yet. She will feature heavily in plots / roleplays.Lou is ( in my headcanons and portrayal ) the next Extinction Entity.}
